IF IT FITS!
Sizing of various garments during different time periods and countries diverge from a strong standard. Due to this fact, we provide actual measurements for each piece as well as an approximate modern size per the guide below. A "One Size" estimate in a listing means that a garment fits "open" or "free" and may be appropriate for many different sizes.
Length of item
For all clothing this is the length of the entire garment. For example; a dress's length would be measured from the shoulder seam to the hem line.
Bust
Measured under the arms at the fullest point of cup size.
Waist
A vintage garment is laid flat and measured at the waist line of the piece and then doubled for the waist size.
Inseam
An inseam is the length from the crotch seam to the hem of the pant leg.
Shoe measurements
Length of a shoe is measured from the heel to the toe of the shoe. The height of a platform, wedge, or heel is also specified in the description. Shoe width is measured at the widest part of the foot, that area is usually an inch or so below where your toes begin.
